Copyright Policy
Effective September 18, 2026
Teaspoon Software LLC ("Teaspoon", "we", "us") respects the rights of creators. Teaspoon saves recipes from links people choose, keeps attribution and a link to the original source, and stores each person's library for their own personal, non-commercial use. This policy explains how to tell us if you believe content in the Services infringes your copyright, how the person who saved it can respond, and how we handle repeat infringers. It is our policy under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) and it applies to the teaspoon.app website and the Teaspoon app (together, the "Services").

Sending a notice of infringement
If you are a copyright owner, or authorized to act for one, and you believe content available through the Services infringes your copyright, send our agent a written notice that includes all of the following:
1. Your physical or electronic signature.
2. Identification of the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed. If one notice covers several works, a representative list is fine.
3. Identification of the material you claim is infringing, with enough detail for us to find it. A link to the original post or page and, where you have it, a description of where it appears in Teaspoon are the most helpful.
4. Your name, mailing address, telephone number, and email address.
5. A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use of the material is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
6. A statement, made under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on the owner's behalf.
When we receive a complete notice, we will promptly remove or disable access to the material, and we will notify the person who saved it. We may also forward your notice, including your contact details, to that person. If your notice is missing any of the elements above, we may ask you for the rest before we act.
Sending a counter-notice
If content you saved was removed because of a notice and you believe that was a mistake or a misidentification, you may send our agent a counter-notice that includes all of the following:
1. Your physical or electronic signature.
2. Identification of the material that was removed and where it appeared before it was removed.
3. A statement, made under penalty of perjury, that you have a good-faith belief that the material was removed or disabled as a result of mistake or misidentification.
4. Your name, mailing address, and telephone number, and a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal district court for the judicial district in which your address is located (or, if you live outside the United States, any judicial district in which Teaspoon may be found), and that you will accept service of process from the person who sent the original notice or their agent.
When we receive a complete counter-notice, we will forward it to the person who sent the original notice. If we do not receive notice within 10 business days that they have filed a court action seeking to restrain the activity, we may restore the material within 10 to 14 business days of receiving your counter-notice.
False claims
Under Section 512(f) of the DMCA, anyone who knowingly misrepresents that material is infringing, or that it was removed by mistake, may be liable for damages, including costs and attorneys' fees. Please be sure before you send a notice or a counter-notice. If you are not sure whether a use is infringing, consider getting legal advice first.
Repeat infringers
We keep a record of notices we receive. We will terminate, in appropriate circumstances, the accounts of people who are found to be repeat infringers, and we may also suspend or close an account for a single serious violation.
Other concerns
This process is for copyright claims. If your concern is about something else, such as a trademark, privacy, or a mistake in how a recipe was imported, email hello@teaspoon.app and we will help.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will post the new version here with a new effective date.
